Does Kashyap prevent algae/moss formation biological deposition?
Kashyap is not a biocide but reduces biological growth by preventing scale in pipes and cooling towers. The reaction decreases oxygen availability, starving flora and fauna. Ca (HCO3)2 + Kashyap → CaCO3 + CO2 + H2O
Does the system require cleaning before installing Kashyap?
In retrofit environments, Kashyap softens the existing scale, allowing it to wash away into the cooling tower sump over time. For new equipment, Kashyap prevents scale formation from day one. The light hardness will take days, and heavy hardness (400 ppm+) will take months.
Will maintenance/hygiene operations be required once Kashyap is introduced?
Kashyap, the demand for chemicals is reduced. Water can be used at higher TDS and hardness, improving its life. pH regulation isn't needed, and cooling tower fins don’t require annual changeover.
Is a specific pH level necessary for water use?
Kashyap causes CaCO3 precipitation in cooling tower circuits, dropping into the sump. This keeps the water alkaline without chemicals, developing a carbonate film that prevents pitting and corrosion in MS pipes.
Are there specifications like TDS or hardness for water usage?
There is no specification from the manufacturer. The higher the hardness, the faster the blowdown will be.
Can customers use TDS /RO to reject water with Kashyap without any issues?
The TDS /Hardness may interfere with the heat transfer. So, it may vary from case to case.
Can Kashyap deployment be made for both open-loop and closed-loop systems?
Kashyap can be deployed in both cases. The cooling tower line is an open loop, while the chilled water line for AHUs is a closed loop.
